On September 11, 2026, the CIA released 71 declassified President’s Daily Brief documents about al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. The set runs from February 1998 through September 12, 2001 — 70 items from before the attacks and one from the day after.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe called the disclosure the agency’s single largest release of CIA analysis related to 9/11. The briefings were prepared for Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush; nearly all of the newly public pages include redactions.
