At least 76,000 people have fled their homes in Yemen since July 2026, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), nearly doubling from about 46,000 just days earlier as fighting intensified along the West Coast and South Taiz frontlines.
Taiz was hardest hit, with about 8,300 households—nearly 50,000 people—displaced from districts including Jabal Habashy, Al Ma’afer, Maqbanah, Mawza, and Al Wazi’iyah. Lahj, Al Hodeidah, and Aden also saw thousands more flee.
IOM said many families are being displaced for a second or third time, often overnight with almost nothing left, and that disrupted communications and inaccessible roads are making aid harder to deliver.
