How much is Anduril investing in its Arsenal-2 submarine shipyard in Maryland?

Anduril is investing $3.7 billion of its own capital in Arsenal-2, a new 2-million-square-foot shipyard at Tradepoint Atlantic (the former Sparrows Point complex) in Baltimore County, Maryland, announced on October 6, 2026. The U.S. Navy has also awarded Anduril a contract worth up to $2.9 billion, with payments tied to production results, bringing the total package to about $6.6 billion.

The shipyard will build components for the Navy’s Virginia-class attack submarines, starting with torpedo tubes and later moving to larger hull sections. Initial operations are expected in 2030, with more than 3,000 direct jobs planned; a new facility in Orange County, California, will begin submarine parts work about two years earlier.
