No. On October 26, 2026, a judge at Southwark Crown Court in London gave Chris Brown an eight-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months, so he will not be imprisoned unless he commits another offence during that period.
Brown, 37, pleaded guilty to affray in July over an attack on music producer Abraham “Abe” Diaw at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair in the early hours of February 19, 2023. CCTV shown in court showed Brown hitting Diaw four times with a heavy glass tequila bottle, twice to the head, in an attack lasting about 20 seconds. His vocal coach, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, who also pleaded guilty to affray, received a four-month sentence suspended for 12 months, and both men were ordered to pay £1,500 in costs. More serious charges, including attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, were dropped after the guilty pleas. Judge Tony Baumgartner called the violence “plainly dangerous” but cited Brown’s guilty plea, his compliance with bail and the impact on his four children, and judged his risk of reoffending to be low.
