Yes. The Venezuelan human rights group Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón (JEP) said 39 political dissidents were freed between Friday and Saturday (September 25–26, 2026) from various prisons. The releases followed a second round of U.S.-backed negotiations between interim President Delcy Rodríguez’s government and the opposition. Those freed included eight women accused of “narco-terrorism” in 2021 and six people accused of working with the United States in a 2020 attempt to overthrow former President Nicolás Maduro.
