According to the Federal Reserve’s Financial Accounts of the United States (Z.1) released September 11, 2026, the net worth of households and nonprofit organizations increased by $12.8 trillion in the second quarter of 2026, reaching $195.9 trillion.
The Fed said the gain was primarily driven by strong capital gains on corporate equity assets. In that quarter, the value of directly and indirectly held equity rose by about $10.7 trillion and real estate by about $1.1 trillion.
