Yes. On September 30, 2026, Chinese AI firm DeepSeek said it partnered with Huawei Technologies to develop programming tools optimized for Huawei’s Ascend chips, as Chinese tech companies deepen ties while seeking alternatives to Nvidia’s ecosystem.
In a WeChat post, DeepSeek said it was open-sourcing programming infrastructure for the Ascend platform, including compute and communication libraries, and that the two companies jointly advanced a “supernode” solution based on 128 Ascend 950 chips. DeepSeek also highlighted TileLang, a high-level open-source programming language for AI chips, as part of the effort.
