Have more than 300 people been killed in Yemen’s Houthi offensive near Mokha?

Yes. According to an AFP tally of military and medical sources on both sides, more than 300 combatants and some civilians have been killed since Iran-backed Houthi forces launched an assault on Thursday aimed at cutting off the government-held Red Sea port of Mokha and pushing toward the Bab al-Mandab strait.

Military sources told AFP that more than 140 combatants alone were killed between midday Saturday and early Sunday, including 84 government troops and 57 Houthi fighters in that window. A government official said fighting had eased early Sunday after rebels briefly cut the road linking Taiz to Mokha.
