How much of global oil supply could Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline outage threaten?

Up to about 4% of global oil supply, according to Saudi oil buyers and traders speaking to Reuters on September 13, 2026. They said the kingdom could lose that export capacity if it does not restart its East-West pipeline to the Red Sea within days.

The pipeline had been moving around 4 million barrels per day to the port of Yanbu after wartime disruption in the Strait of Hormuz. With the line shut after drone attacks, Yanbu reportedly holds only about five to seven days of stocks to keep exports going, and repair timelines cited to Reuters ranged from sooner partial restarts to as long as five to six weeks.
