Insectivorous means insect-eating. An insectivore is an animal or plant whose diet consists mainly of insects; another term for this is entomophagy.
Examples include anteaters, many bats, shrews, swallows, and frogs, as well as carnivorous plants such as the Venus flytrap and pitcher plants, which trap insects to obtain nutrients like nitrogen.
