Most are not. Columbus Day falls on Monday, October 12, 2026, and it is one of the holidays observed by the Federal Reserve System, so the Federal Reserve Banks are closed that day. Because most U.S. banks follow the Fed’s holiday schedule, their branches are generally closed as well, and transfers or deposits that depend on Federal Reserve processing typically won’t be handled until Tuesday, October 13.
Each bank sets its own hours, though, so some branches may open, and ATMs, mobile apps, and online banking usually keep working. Check with your bank if you need to visit a branch that day.
