Is Ollama free?

Yes, Ollama is free to download and use for running open models on your own computer, and local use has no subscription and no usage limit.

As of October 30, 2026, Ollama’s pricing page lists a $0 Pay as you go tier that includes running models locally, with no subscription and no service fees. The app is open source under the MIT License, according to its GitHub repository. Ollama says running models on your own hardware is always unlimited.

Cloud models are different. On Pay as you go you pay per token for every cloud model, with 3 concurrent requests. Pro costs $20 a month or $200 a year and includes $60 of usage credits each month. Max costs $100 a month with $300 of credits and 10 concurrent requests. Team, in early access, costs $500 a month with $1,000 of shared credits. Included credits reset monthly and do not roll over. Ollama says it does not use cloud prompts or responses to train models. Earlier Pro and Max plans had session and weekly limits, which the current plans replace.
