Did the U.S. sanction Turkey’s Golden Global Bank?

Yes. On September 4, 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated Istanbul-based Golden Global Yatırım Bankası Anonim Şirketi (Golden Global Bank) and two subsidiaries under Operation Economic Outcast.

Treasury said the firms facilitated tens of millions of dollars in transactions for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps–Qods Force and provided the Iranian regime with correspondent banking access used to move funds internationally, including oil revenues routed through a shadow “rahbar” network. All U.S. property of the designated entities is blocked, and U.S. persons are generally barred from dealings with them.
