How much does the Ring Smart Lock cost?

Amazon’s new Ring Smart Lock will cost $249, according to details Amazon shared on October 7, 2026. It is expected to go on sale in the U.S. in early 2027, pending FCC approval, in black, silver, and brass finishes.

Its main feature is a thumb-turn dial that doubles as a backup charger: if the rechargeable battery dies, turning the dial “a few times” generates enough power to unlock the door, so no physical backup key is needed. It unlocks with a fingerprint reader, a backlit touchscreen keypad, the Ring app, or Alexa voice commands, and it connects through Amazon’s Sidewalk network rather than home Wi-Fi. The lock has no camera of its own.
