Not on current iPhones and iPads: Apple says turning on Airplane Mode switches off cellular and Wi-Fi but leaves Bluetooth on, so wireless headphones and other Bluetooth accessories can stay connected.
According to Apple’s support page, last published on February 11, 2026, tapping the Airplane Mode button in Control Center on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro “turns off all radios except for Bluetooth.” You can turn Bluetooth off yourself, and the device remembers that choice: if you switch off Bluetooth while Airplane Mode is on, it turns Bluetooth off the next time you enable Airplane Mode. Apple also notes that if the airline allows it, you can still use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth while Airplane Mode is on. Beyond flights, Apple says Airplane Mode can help save battery, lower roaming charges while traveling, and force a signal refresh. Apple Vision Pro uses only Wi-Fi, and an Apple Watch can be set to mirror the iPhone’s Airplane Mode setting from the Watch app under General.
