The Bayeux Tapestry opens to the public at the British Museum on 10 September 2026 and is scheduled to run through 11 July 2027. The roughly 70-metre embroidery, on loan from France, depicts events leading up to the Battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest of 1066 and is being shown in England for the first time in nearly 1,000 years.
Tickets for the opening months through December 2026 are already sold out. The museum says the next general ticket release is on 21 October 2026 for visits from 1 January to 31 March 2027, with members getting priority booking from 6 October 2026.
