Starting with the 2027 ceremony, the Emmy Awards will stream live on Amazon Prime Video instead of airing on a U.S. broadcast network. Under a six-year deal announced on October 6, 2026, Prime Video holds exclusive global rights, and the show will stream free worldwide each September, with no Prime Video subscription required. Audiences in more than 200 countries will be able to watch live.
The agreement ends the rotation of the ceremony among ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, so it marks the first time the Emmys will leave traditional broadcast television entirely. Financial terms were not disclosed. The move follows a similar shift by the Oscars, which are set to stream live on YouTube globally starting in 2029.
