NotebookLM, now called Gemini Notebook, is free with a Google account, and higher limits come with Google AI plans such as Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month or Google AI Ultra from $99.99 a month.
As of November 7, 2026, Google’s Gemini Notebook plans help page lists five tiers: Standard (free), Plus, Pro, Ultra (20 TB plan) and Ultra (30 TB plan). There is no separate NotebookLM subscription. You upgrade by buying a Google AI plan, through a qualifying Google Workspace or Workspace for Education license, or through Gemini Notebook for enterprise on Google Cloud. The free tier allows 100 notebooks and 50 sources per notebook. Plus raises that to 200 notebooks and 100 sources, Pro to 500 notebooks and 300 sources, and the two Ultra tiers to 500 and 600 sources per notebook. The Google One AI plans page prices Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year, and Ultra at $99.99 a month, billed monthly only. Google renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook on July 16, 2026.
